Television Portfolio
For us, television is a big, big world. Over the years we’ve produced a range of commercials and TV pilots. And in early 2018 our first television series, Photo Number 6, hit the Channel Ten airwaves.Featured Works
Is This Thing On follows ten students at The School of Hard Knock Knocks as they embark on a journey to become Australia‘s latest comedy superstar. Over six emotionally charged episodes, Glynn Nicholas leads the class through the intricacies of crafting the perfect stand up comedy routine and how to deliver it.
Along the way, the students are guided by some of Australia’s funniest performers, challenging them to find that illusive ingredient that will set them apart from the rest. Chaos, tears, fear, and cutting edge, clever comedy, not for the faint-hearted…. as each one of these brave try-outs steps in to the spotlight, taps the spittle encrusted microphone, and says… “Is this thing on?”

TV commercials are usually 15 or 30 seconds long and there is only 25 frames of video in each second. We have the philosophy that to produce a great TV spot, you need to make every frame count. Every element must work to compliment the next. With every TVC Mezzanine Films creates, we see it as a thirty second feature film with a strong story, great cast, powerful drama, clever comedy and beautifully shot with just the right post elements.
